The Current Situation
In using the Alpine Wasp helicopter to rescue climbers and trekkers in the Mt Everest region, the Everest Rescue Trust is hoping to raise funds to significantly improve the lives of the Nepalese living at extreme altitudes.

How to Get Involved
The most important difference to many charities is that the Everest Rescue Trust intends to set up something that is sustainable. We are not simply going to give away money, we intend to change the livelihood of a people untouched by the trappings of modern Western civilisation. The revenue from the rescue service will sustain the operating cost of the project, but the more support we get, the more we can do for the people of Nepal.

So, how can you get involved?

Be a Corporate Supporter
In order to get this project off to a flying start, we’d love to have major donations from some corporate supporters. As with all humanitarian efforts, the Trust always has more challenges that it could achieve but lacks the funds to do so. You can help.

Volunteer
We’re always looking for volunteers who are willing to donate some of their time to the Trust’s causes. Anyone is welcome, from all over the world. In particular, for the Sagarmatha Limb Centre, we’re looking for registered orthopaedic and prosthetic specialists, frostbite experts and physiotherapists with experience with prosthetics rehabilitation to donate just ten days to help Nepalese frostbite victims who’ve lost limbs.

Offer Goods and Services
If you’re a winter clothing, footwear or gear company, in fact any company that can provide a product or service to benefit the Nepalese, we want to hear from you.

Donate Now
We believe that this project will save hundreds of climbers' lives on Everest and consequently, help the Trust provide facilities to hugely benefit the Nepal high alpine people.

You can donate as much or as little as you can afford, and be safe in the knowledge that 100% of every donation goes directly to helping the Nepalese people.

We’ll have a team sending information back from the South Island of New Zealand, where testing of the Alpine Wasp will be taking place during 2007, and then from Nepal in 2008 so there will be regular updates, news, interviews and videos uploaded on the site. It’ll be ever changing and if you’re a donor, you’ll receive the news on an exclusive weekly email with clickable weblinks.

Just tick the box to receive the newsletter, packed full of the latest news items, details of website changes and improvements, links to feature articles, interviews, pictures, videos and lots more. The newsletter means that you’ll be first to receive all our communications and a lot of the information you’ll get will be under embargo for at least a week, sometimes more. It’s exclusive and just for you!

The Trust does not sell email addresses or information about its supporters, we guarantee your privacy and confidentiality. You can also unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time.
